Shipping

We cannot be held responsible for the incorrect selection of freight options at the checkout by the user. Goods will be dispatched once monies have been cleared.
All Shipping is via Australia Post. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products we do not use harsh preservatives and for this reason we keep stock levels to a minimum. This way we ensure you receive the freshest product available. However it may slightly delay shipping by one to two days.
 
Therefore you should receive your order within 5 to 7 working days of your order being confirmed, note WA, NT and TAS may take more than 5 working days. We have many people ask if their goods will arrive safely, we pack all orders with the utmost care. Our parcels are packed to the Australia Post standards or higher. We understand that parcels can get treated very roughly from time to time when in transit and we take measures to counteract potential damage to goods as best as we can.
 

Authority to Leave parcel

All parcels we send need a signature as proof of delivery.

If you choose to have us request that Auspost leaves your parcel at your premises with your authority to leave it there, ie without signature. What this means is that once the parcel has been delivered according to Australia Post records it has been delivered. If the parcel get's taken or stolen from your premises Platypus Dreams or Australia Post cannot be held liable for the missing parcel.

Important: Please note once the parcel has left our premises it is in the hands of Australia Post if the parcel is lost the parcel is the responsibility of the receiver. We will do our very best to locate your parcel but we cannot be held liable for the actions of others.

Damaged or Broken Items

AUSTRALIAN DESTINATION PARCELS ONLY: We pack your purchase with extra care, although on the very rare occasion packages can get damaged in transit. Any small damage or missing item claims must be made within 5 days of receipt of your order. Large damage claims must be made upon receipt as they may need to go through the delivery company. Leave the box(s) alone and phone me immediately, the carrier might require an inspection of the boxes in the manner that they were delivered. We may request return of merchandise on damaged claims depending on the individual circumstances. In instances of breakages please send us photos of the broken items/parcel, email us and we can provide you with a mobile phone number to send the photo to if you cannot upload or email it to us.

Returns

We advise purchasing small quantities to ensure the products meet your requirements before placing a large order. If you would like to cancel an order that you have placed, do so immediately. If you wait a couple of days it may have already been shipped. Orders that have already been or boxed, may incur a 20% re-stocking fee. Due to the nature of the products and for health reasons, if your order has been shipped, sorry we do not accept any returns. On the rare occasion, should you feel that you have received defective products, please phone us or email us immediately. Return goods to Platypus Dreams 390 Mt Jukes Rd, Mount Jukes QLD 4740 but please contact us so we can make arrangements for the parcel's return.

Shipping Free Freight Promotions

Available only when promotion times are on, look for the banner on the front of the website to see if free shipping is available. It maybe also accessed via a voucher. This feature is only available when you are registered and logged in, 50% off freight is 50% off at the checkout, the checkout will not say so, if unsure please ring us with a list of the goods you are ordering and we will do a weight tally for you so you can check with the Auspost online calculator. Goods will be dispatched once monies have been cleared.
 
All Shipping is via Australia Post. Eparcel and ClickNSend systems domestically and you will get an email confirmation of the goods being despatched from Auspost.
 

Auspost scans - Where is my Parcel?

Auspost only scans your parcel at the post office it has been lodged at and then at it's destination post office and finally with the driver.
Note: There are no scans in between so let's say a parcel is going from Queensland to Victoria. The parcel is scanned at the post office it is dropped off at, ie lodged at. Then it seems to sit there like forever because it doesn't get scanned when it is in transit from Queensland to NSW and finally Victoria. Once it arrives in Victoria at it's destination or the main sorting area in a major city it may get scanned again but main scans are mainly at the destination post office. Then it is scanned when it is collected by the Auspost delivery driver and it usually says on board with driver.
 
It says onboard with driver but that was yesterday and now it appears to be back at the post office...
When you see this on your delivery notice by Auspost either go to the post office where it has been taken back to or ring them. Make sure you have the consignment number with you to verify who you are.
